That's what Grace & Hudson's mutual friend told Grace as they were leaving tennis. Reluctant for a blind set up, but open to pickleball, Grace and Hudson both showed up to a pickleball group at Williams Park. Grace got caught up in a phone call with a friend and arrived 45 minutes late... Hudson values punctuality and gets destroyed 11-0 in the first pickleball game before Grace arrives. Off to a rough start. Once she arrives, Hudson tries asking intentional questions, but Grace is focused on the pickleball game...naturally. 


Days go by and Hudson receives her number from that mutual friend and calls to ask Grace on a date to a Stars game. Before the date happens, Hudson invites Grace for round two of pickleball where he forgets to mention that his little brother is joining... (met the fam before the first date!) They both had a blast on date 1 and Hudson was quickly swept off his feet by the D1 athlete with a full-ride scholarship, who has her MBA, discipled a tree of new believers in college (Hudson’s words), and most importantly loves the Lord.


Grace’s roommates called it on date two after her roommate debrief. She was struck by his boldness throughout college, (his dimple ofc), the way he came back with more questions about her story, and how fun he was. A few dates in, Hudson asks to make it official to which Grace says yes immediately. Hudson proceeds to take a huge sigh, sit back in his chair, freak out internally, and say THIS IS CRAZY, I never thought someone like you was out there. Grace felt the same.


Months later, on the way home from the first trip to Grace's hometown of Wichita, Hudson brings up a future together and the rest is history! They got engaged at the same place they met, Williams Park.


Looking at our story, we are in awe of how God has written it. Specific prayers were answered and a clear peace from the beginning. Right before we met, we both told our friends separately that we weren't looking to date someone and loved our lives. Yet, we can see clearly how the Lord has crossed our paths in His timing, and we are so grateful for the part that many of you have played in it.


We can't wait for March 29th!!! All the glory to God and let's celebrate!!!!
